If you are wondering where the Christmas pics are...

They are still on my camera. I got a new camera for Christmas and figured out after the fact that I need more software for my computer to read the camera. I will be checking into that and then post some pictures when I can. I used my older camera for Ian's birthday so I could get them on the computer right away.

Ian's 2nd Birthday!

First thing Ian did was grab a bottle and crash. He had no interest in food, even though we had his favorite - chicken nuggets! (Yes, I think he is too old for a bottle. However breaking him from it is proving difficult. We are not pushing too hard till after Caroline gets here since I am sure he will regress a little after her arrival anyway.)

Here is a picture of the cake. Ian LOVES cars! He loves playing with them so much the teachers at daycare nicknamed him the car man.

Ian eating the cake.

I finally convinced him to use a fork...

Savannah insisted that we take a picture of just her piece of cake. (I am not sure why..but she was VERY insistent that this HAD to be done.) We also got a picture of her enjoying her brother's cake. We could not get a really good picture because she was too busy cheesing!

Here he is opening the presents. I got some more..but they were just white on the camera. I am not sure why. I think I may have used up the memory on the card. I'll try to get some more later. His big one was a set of emergency vehicles. He tends to love firetrucks and ambulances and police cars. I think he likes the bright colors and the noise they make. Now if we could just convince Savannah they are HIS toys...

Ian's big boy room

Just in case anyone is interested in what we are doing for Ian's big boy room, I will try and post pics..

Here is the bed:

Here is the bedding:

Update

Well, there is not a lot to update really. Things are progressing about the same. The doctor wants me to work less hours per week since I have been contracting some. The contractions are not really doing anything, but still they want me to take it a little more easy. This is easier said than done with 2 small children at home.

We have made a lot of progress on the nursery. It is still not completely done though. I will post pics when it is.

This is what we have done:

1. John finished painting the room. If you want to know the colors of the walls it is Behr from Home Depots Gobi Desert color. It is just a neutral color.

2. We have the crib together. It is in new baby position and the bedding is in it, as well as the sleep position thingy to make sure Caroline stays on her back.

3. The changing table is in place complete with changing pad cover and wipe warmer. I have not hung the diaper stacker yet.

4. Rocking chair is in place.

5. We have a couch in there, but I have not covered it yet. I have the cover, we just have not got it on it yet.

6. We have bought curtains and a new curtain rod, but have not hung them.

7. We are going to put the futon in there as well. (Yes, it is a large room). It needs a cover. It is not in there yet because Ian is using it as his bed until his big boy bed gets in.

8. I have made letters that spell her name for the wall. However, I need to add the ribbon and then hang them.

9. Her clothes are divided out by size and the ones she will wear at first are either in the drawer or hung in the closet.

We have a lot done, but it still seems like a lot to go..and I am sure I will think of other little things to add as we go on. There is no definate c-section date yet..but I am guessing around the 12th or so..which means 7 weeks to go max!

4D Ultrasound today...

Well, we got some pictures and they are pretty good. She did have her faced squished into the placenta though so that complicated things a little

She is also breech, but that does not matter since I will have a c-section anyway.

We think she looks like Savannah. Another thing that reminded us of Savannah was that her mouth was going the entire time! LOL! We may have another talker on our hands...

Here are some pictures! Some are just of the face, in one she has her little hand in her face and in others she is yawning. We have more, just let me know if anyone wants to see them! Enjoy!

Savannah is so funny sometimes...

We were having a post Thanksgiving meal with John's mom and cousin. Savannah said she was going to say the prayer..and she did. Right as she was thanking God for her food, the microwave beeped (I was still warming up the gravy). So the prayer came out something like this..."Thank you for our yummy food..by the way go get it. Thank you for our family..." She never missed a beat..she just threw the go get it in there..

The things kids can do..

Okay, I worked until Midnight last night. When I came in everyone was asleep, so I just slept downstairs so I would not wake anyone. John had to go to work early this AM. He woke me a little as he left at around 5, but I went back to sleep.

At 8 Ian (my 22 month old) was crying so I went up to get him. I could not get in his room. The door was locked from the inside. I tried to jimmy it with a bobby pin,but it would not budge, so I got the screwdriver and took the doorknob off. It came off, but the bolt was still in there and it would not move. I could not undo the hinges because they were on the other side of the door!

The whole time my 4 year old was trying to "help" but was mostly just getting in the way a little.

I could not get in touch with John due to the nature of his job. I could not get in touch with anyone close enough to help me. Everyone I called told me to do what I had already tried to no avail. So I was told to just go ahead and call 911 and have the firemen come out.

Well, I did. They came and they had to use a big hammer on the bolt thingy, they could not budge it either.

So Ian is free now,..but that was so scary, I can't believe he did that! I am not sure how he managed to get locked in. I did not think he had the dexterity to turn that little knob that makes the door lock. Savannah says she did not lock it and then close it. John does not think it was locked when he shut it after putting Ian to be last night. I have no way of knowing because I never went up there last night since I was afraid I would wake everyone up! Who knows what happened...all I know is I am glad he is out.

Lesson learned: No matter how little they are, DO NOT have locks on the door that can lock from the inside! (Especially if your hinges are on the inside of the door!)

John also accidentally knocked one of the suction cups on the screen thingy on the back windows of my car (you know those things you put up so the sun is not in your kids eyes) into the door of the car and now the window will not go back up.

It is raining so the window being down is a bad thing. It is parked in the garage though. Anyways, it keeps me from being able to drive anywhere right now. This afternoon will include picking the kids up and taking them to somewhere to eat, going to the store and getting new doorknobs..one for Ian's room since they had to break it, and one for all the other rooms in the house so it won't happen again!

Also John will have to find a way to fix my window now..he thinks he can do it.

You know some days are better than others..this has just not been one of those days! To top it off I have a horrible headache now that will not go away. I think it is a stress headache. I'll be glad when February gets here...well in some ways I will. I really do not like being in the third trimester much. Although, I do want her to stay in till she is ready to come out. However, I am going from 2-3. It is kind of a scary thought. I know we can do it though! We just have to work on being mentally and physically prepared. Which reminds me..I should be moving more stuff out of her room and closet...

Update

I passed the 3 hour test, barely. However, a pass is a pass!

Everything else is going great. Ian said his first kind of sentence this morning. He said "go..right..now". He wanted to ride in the car.

Both kids are still growing like weeds. It is so hard to believe how big they have gotten some days.

We are really looking forward to the 1st. That is when we have our 4D ultrasound. I will post pictures!

Update

Well, we have officially decided her name will be Caroline (Caro-line) Elizabeth.

I have a new camera and as soon as I get the hang of it I hope to post pictures. The Halloween ones did not turn out very well. Savannah was a kitty-cat and Ian was a lion.

Today I took my 1 hour glucose test. It is a test where you eat nothing and then drink a super sugary drink. Then they test your blood sugar levels to see how they are. My OB wants to see them below 145. (This varies amoung OBS some have a lower cut off). I had a 148. This means I failed. I am not diagnosed with gestational diabetes yet. I have to go back tomorrow and take a 3 hour test. I do the same thing..I do not eat tonight and then I go in tomorrow and drink more of the sugary drink and then wait 3 hours to have my blood drawn. That will determine if I am diagnosed or not. Some people fail the first one and then past the second one, so I can still hope!

Onto more happy news. I will be getting a 4D ultrasound done at the Drs office on Dec 1st. We will have tons of pictures from it, so I hope to be able to post them that afternoon. We are excited! We have never had one of these before..but several friends have and they are really cool. We can't wait to see her!

Hope everyone had a great Halloween!

We think she has a name...

I had an appointment with the doctor the other day. Everything is still going fine. She is still a healthy little baby. We think we have decided on a name. We are pretty sure it will be Caroline Elizabeth. It is one we both agree on. Savannnah seems to like it soon. At first she was a little disappointed that we were not going with her choice of Happy Girl Day..but in the end she says she likes the name Caroline.

We are also going to schedule a 4D ultrasound. It won't be for about 6 more weeks. That is more of the ideal time to get good 4D pictures. I have never had one done before so I am excited!!! I will even be able to share it with everyone!

I just am hitting 22 weeks. I can't believe I am over half way there! We are looking so forward to meeting her!

This weekend I want to take the kids hiking up in the mountains if we get a chance. I hear the leaves are beautiful up there right now and I would love for Savannah to see them. She is so full of wonder this year! I will post pictures!

We have had a busy time since I last posted.

First we went to West Tennessee to get some furniture and see family. By the time we got back Ian was sick and of course we both had to work as well. Ian is feeling better now though, other than seasonal allergies..but then they are something we all just have to go through.

There is not a lot going on other than rearranging furniture to get ready for the new baby. She still does not have a name. John says he just can't decide. Pretty soon I may decided because I want to start making things with her name on them!!! I am not someone who can wait until the kid is born to give her a name.

Ian has a big boy bed now. We are using the futon as his bed. He is doing better than I thought he would. He made the transition with ease. I guess it helps that he has been sleeping on a cot in daycare. I plan on posting pictures as we transform things!

The things kids say...

When I pick Savannah and Ian up from daycare I often get Ian first and bring him to Savannah's classroom with me. Her class LOVES Ian..actually everyone loves Ian. He gives hugs very easily and smiles at everyone.

Savannah asked the other day why everyone loves Ian so much. (I think she has a hard time understanding that it is easier for people to pick up and sqeeze a 20something pound toddler than it is an almost 50 pound preschooler who happens to be pretty tall. Also she LOVES being the center of attention and gets a little upset when people are not focusing on her..somewhat age appropriate I know). John told her it was because Ian was so cute and sweet they just want to take him home and have an Ian too. She thought about this for a moment and then said, "Well, they can't take him home and keep him forever..he is MY BABY BROTHER..but if they want to borrow him for a little while that is okay."

She is such a mess sometimes!!!

She is so excited about having a new baby sister. She is just getting impatient and wondering when the baby can come out and play. We have told her February..but of course she does not have enough concept of time yet to fully understand that other than it is after Santa Claus comes. The other day she was looking very intently at my ever expanding belly. I asked her what she was looking for..she said "some way to share my toys with my sister. (she had a new doll from her Happy Meal) Babies need toys you know mommy, they just do."

She also had a name picked out for the baby, If I would allow my four year old daughter to name our newest addition the name would be "Happy Girl Day Thurman". She even drew a picture of the babyand the 4 of us at school and had the teacher write the name next to the baby. She had each person labeled..and that was they babies name. She will even tell you that still if you ask her. That makes me wonder..is that where those celebrities come up with names? Do they search out a four year old or ask their own four year old.."What would you name the baby?" and then use whatever the kid said? That would explain a lot wouldn't it? (And now we know where the name Apple came from!!!)

The nursery...

Here is the bedding. I got an unbelievable deal on brand new bedding on Ebay. We love it! This is the promotional picture. Our nursery is far from being set up. It just lets you know where we are going with it..

We had the BIG ultrasound!!!

Savannah got her wish! IT'S A GIRL!!!! We have a baby pool if you want to guess on the weight and everything. It will go in the baby book. There is a link a couple of posts down.

I will now post the ultrasound pictures. I am also going to attempt to post the DVD video they made of our baby girl!!! We have not told Savannah yet..waiting till after Pre-K today. I'll post her reaction later!!!

Okay..I cannot get the video to upload..maybe John can later.

Recent pics of Savannah and Ian

Lilypie Expecting a baby Ticker

Getting excited...

I am getting really excited about tomorrow. I cannot wait to find out if we are adding a little girl or a little boy to our family!

I get asked all the time what I want. I just want a healthy baby. After 2 miscarriages and such a scare with this one I have learned to not be picky. I wonder if I would still feel that way though if I did not have one of each. I would like to think that I would, but I really do not know. I have clothes and such for each. I just need to know which ones to get out and get ready. I am thinking the others will go to the next consignment sale that they have around here. (Speaking of which - I LOVE consignment sales!)

Savannah is not to the point of being not picky about what kind of baby we are having. She is convinced it must be a girl because she "already has a boy baby". She wants a girl to share her toys and her clothes with. We'll see if she still wants to do that later! She already gets mad if Ian tries to play with something she thinks is hers.

Ian is pretty clueless as to there is a baby coming. I have tried showing him babies. He shows no interest in them whatsoever. However, his favorite book right now is one about briging a new baby home. It has real life pictures in it, I think that may be why he likes it.

Well, I guess that is all for this blog. I'll post again tomorrow with an update on whether it is a girl (as Savannah as predicted) or a boy. Anyone have any guesses of thier own?

First Post

I have decided to create this blog to let family and friends know about what is going on. I think I may be better at updating this than sending out the mass emails.

As many of you know, I am pregnant. In the beginning of the pregnancy I had what is called a subchorioic hemorrhage. That means I had a blood clot and bleed in between the placenta and the uterine wall. I was given a 50/50 chance of the baby making it as long as the clot was there and I was placed on bedrest. Well, thanks to God and prayers the hemorrhage cleared up. I am still high risk because the problem existed to begin with not to mention the 2 previous c-sections I had. However, the baby appears to be healthy and consistently has a heartbeat in the 150s. This is very comforting. I had 2 previous miscarriages and was really afraid of having another. We have decided, however, that this is the last baby. We will be happy with our family of five!

I will include some ultrasound pictures in the post as well as some new pictures of Savannah and Ian. I will have even more pictures to post Monday. Monday is the day our BIG ultrasound is scheduled! We will then know what sex this baby is! Savannah is really hoping for a girl. She says she already has a boy baby. She is 100% covinced it is a girl. The scan also checks for any genetic abnormalities that may show up in utero, please pray that all is still OK.

Here is the first picture ever taken of baby 3. If you are wondering what the big black blob is outside of the area that is the sac/baby then that is the hemorrage.

I have more ultrasounds from in between the 2, but they are so early you can't really tell much other than the hemorrhage is shrinking. However, if you are curious to see them..just let me know. Below is one at 10 weeks. You can see that the hemorrhage is gone. Yah!

Well, I had planed on getting pictures off of the camera and onto the computer of Savannah and Ian. However, it does not appear to be reading the card so I will try again later!
