She is back up to her birth weight of 7 lbs 15 oz! The doc said that is really good, especially for a breastfed baby. I am so happy I have not had to supplement. I really wanted to breastfeed my other 2, and I did to an extent..it just did not work as well with them as it is with her. I just hope it continues to work well when I have to go back to work.
Here are some pictures of her.

My Little Singer...she says she will be a STAR someday..
Savannah loves to sing. Sometimes she gets the words mixed up though..an example. She was trying to sing "Skip to My Lou" the other day. However, those are not the words she thinks are in the song..here is her take on the lyrics:
Stick Stick, Stick to the Glue
Stick, Stick, Stick to the Glue
Stick to the glue my daaahhhhlinnnnggg!
Her singing is not limited to misinterpreted lyrics or actual songs though. She also makes songs up. She was singing to Caroline the other day. It was a song she had made up. She sung it to the tune I sing the song in the book "I'll Love You Forever" to. (http://www.amazon.com/Love-You-Forever-Robert-Munsch/dp/0920668364/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1235416865&sr=8-1)
"I will love you FOREVER
If you get lost I will go hunting for you
You're the bestest baby ever
I'll never forget your name."
I think that is pretty good for a four year old!

Caroline's Birth Story
Went in for my scheduled c-section. They had to use Fentanyl since I am allergic to Morphine so I am kind of sketchy on the details. I do not remember much.
It took longer to get her out since I had a great deal of scar tissue from my 2 previous c-sections. The doc also mentioned that my bladder had taken a beating from all the pregnancies. She said it was a good thing John and I had decided this was our last baby and to get my tubes tied. She, and I tend to agree with her, was not sure my body could take another pregnancy. John said it seemed like it took them forever to "put me back together". I am at home now. I am sore and swollen, but will be okay. I am working on breastfeeding. So far my milk has not come in, so I am having to supplement, but maybe soon I won't have to do that anymore. I may get John to post later. He remembers more than I do I am sure.
Here are some pictures from the hospital. I will post more as time goes on. I was just too sore and tired to take many in the hospital.

1/09/09 OB Appointment
Well, I am still contracting. There is no change. Given the rather low position of the baby's head they said they know I am in a lot of pain though. The sciatic nerve pain is the worst of it, but it will all be over soon. C-section should happen Friday morning at around 0730. We have to be there at 0530! My next blog will probably have pictures of Caroline!

1/5/09 OB appointment
I am still contracting. They are not regular though and vary in intensity. However, on top of the contractions there is "uterine irritability". There has been no change in my cervix or anything in the past few weeks. The contractions are useless. Yes, sometimes they hurt, sometimes I do not even notice them. The sciatic nerve pain is horrible. I am still having some tenderness around my old scars, but it isn't as bad as it was the other day.
I have another appointment scheduled for Monday morning. C-section is still scheduled for Friday the 13th. Mondays appointment is mainly so they can monitor my useless contractions again.

A trip to L&D
I went in today for my 38 week appointment. There is no change in my cervix or her station, but I was contracting. I have also been having some bad pains around my c-section scars since last night. The doctor sent me over to L&D to be watched. Contractions slowed down, baby's heart rate was good so they sent me home. It was just "false labor". It sure does hurt though. I have another appointment on Thursday to check me again. It looks like she will be hanging in there till next Friday when my c-section is scheduled. I am glad for her to keep growing and I want her to be healthy when she comes out, I just wish I did not have to hurt so much this time. However, I guess Genesis 3:16 (To the woman he said,"I will greatly increase your pains in childbearing; with pain you will give birth to children.) tells me it is just one of the things you have to go through. I know the healthy baby will be worth it in the end..right now though I am a little bit miserable :(

Well it is February!
I can now say I am due this month! In fact, since I have the c-section scheduled I can say I will have a baby next week! I am still having some contractions, but nothing regular. The sciatic nerve pain is often worse than the contractions right now. She has a real affinity for getting on that nerve and it feels like she must just grind into it. Sometimes a hot bath helps..sometimes not. I do want her out in the world..but I just reassure myself that everyday she spends in utero just helps her grow stronger and that maybe she won't have the temp regulation and jaundice problems that Savannah and Ian had when they were born. I will be 39 weeks 1 day when they do the surgery. I am not sure what she will think of her eviction..but we will see. All the paperwork is signed..all I have to do is show up now!
We also have news on Ian's big boy bed. It is on a truck and coming from Mississippi to Alcoa. It should be here on Tuesday. They were having problems with getting the mattress, so they are letting me have a more expensive floor model to replace it. I am fine with that..I just want my furniture. It would be nice to have his bed set up before Caroline comes!
