We made the decision to cloth diaper

Caroline has been having a horrible time with diaper rashes. It seems like no matter what I did, or how much I changed her, she had one. I tried every kind of disposable diaper, even the generic ones. She still had a rash. She still was always picking at the diaper area and trying (sometimes successfully) to get the diaper off. I decided to try a cloth diaper. It worked! Her rash is going away and she does not pick at herself! I know she should potty train within the next year, but in the time being I think she will be happier this way.

So far I have tried different brands and like them all. When I first thought of cloth diapering, I thought of pins and prefolds. I thought of ugly plastic covers. However, I found that not to be true. Some of the cloth diapers act just like a disposable, with velcro or snaps. There is nothing else to do, just put the diaper on the kid. Others are similar, but have little pockets where you can add absorbent pads (such as a prefold diaper). Others have a liner and you can place either cloth or flushable pads in them. Often these last through several diaper changes (as long as you have extra pads/liners). All of them are cute patterns! You can find just about any print you would want.

I never thought I would cloth diaper, but it is a successful venture so far. Caroline seems to like it and Savannah even says she wishes I had cloth diapered her because the diapers are so cute!

Here are some of the diapers, if you are curious.
